Hahaha funny you found that. Clip 3 is me... looking a bit rough, I may add.
haha sorry for the less-than-stellar playing. Take 1 is always fun!

I have a blonde F65CE I’d be willing to trade. This is a great guitar but it doesn’t suit my playing style and since I don’t plug in I’m unable to appreciate its sound. I also miss the sound of a deep bodied dread.

Jazzmang, is that in a different tuning or are they just funky chords?

Its in a tuning similar to DADGAD. IIRC, its (from low to high) DADGDD

EDIT: Although I think the original song had everything a half step up, so it would be D#A#, etc...

Jazzmang - I didn't know that was you.

That's excellent playing & singing.

Jim Betts - Put some phosphor-bronze strings on it - if you don't have 'em on already.
It will sound good. If it doesn't, enjoy the neck. You'll never find another acoustic
that plays like that.

BTW, I have a 1989 Walker D-60* I just dropped a thousand bucks into a
neck reset & fret job on by Guitars of Montana. I might trade it for an F-65ce. AFAIC,
the F-65ce is a more impressive instrument. At least it's better-suited for my style of playing.

Let me think about it. You can PM me for my email. Let me know your selling
price too. I'm in Southeast Asia. The D-60 is in Louisiana and you're in San Antonio. Stay in touch.

(*It's the 130th I think - out of 300 or so Guild made. I also had a K&K installed by
Brian Schmidt & Guitars of Montana).

Here are a couple of more nice ones.
You can really get into playing these little guitars.
Best neck ever on an acoustic!

I like your playing. The guitar sounds great, too. What are you recording through??

Thanks! The F65ce has the onboard blender, which I then passed on to my fireface recording interface.

What program do you record with, or are you telling me and I'm too ignorant to know?
What kind of mic are you using on your voice? Pre-amp?

I use Sony Vegas 9.0. The mic is an MXL condensor. The preamp is the builtin fireface one.

HI Jazzman & Marcellis: Reading some of your posts (along with a bunch of other guys') was inspirational towards me finally joining here. I too have an F65ce which I bought new. It had a flag hanging on it "Last of the Westerlys" and I was looking for something with a built in mic, and it was heavily discounted, and even though it felt WAY too shallow when I tried it on(me being a dreadnought man), it was just, you know, so gorgeous (Flame maple natural) that I decided that I would just have to learn how to play it !!! Of course I know now that it wasn't really THE LAST of the Westerlys but I DO know it was one of the last 3 F65's made. And I can play it now! In fact I finally even realized a song I composed on the D25 was actually better suited to the F65...I think it was after reading one of Marcellis's posts that made me try it. Yes they really are something special.
AS is everybody here. It's so fantastic to see such a diverse group lending support and encouragement to each other! This is where I wanna be!
Jazzman incredibly my computer here at work has no sound card but I hope soon to be able to hear what some of you guys are posting. My own tastes and styles range from flamenco to folkrock to jazz and I've even written a couple of s**tkickers!

The F-65ce is one of the greatest & most under-rated flat-top Guilds.
And it's one of the most unique guitars Guild ever made. It's up there
with the D-25, but obviously, for different reasons.

Taylor & Takamine have tried to copy the design. Neither has equaled or improved on it.
