The F-47 is a bigger guitar than the F-30. I believe the 47 has a rosewood back and sides, while the 30 has a mahogany back and sides. The F-30, which I own, is a comfortable guitar. I'd say it's bigger than a standard OM or 000 model. The lower bout on the F-30 is 15", body depth at end pin is 4.5" and 4" where you put your arm around the lower bout to play. I have not seen or played a 47, but it comes down to what size of a guitar you are looking for, as well as the tonewoods you prefer. I like my F-30 a lot. For me the F-47 is too big of a body, but that's a personal preference. The sound of my F-30 is rich, full, warm, and depending on the strings I use, it has a brilliance to it. Hope that helps.

You know, leftie, you asked this question before and Frosty took the time to provide you with links for you to compare the specs of the models in question, and even provided an answer that there's certainly a difference in the sounds that you get from each.
He also pointed out the obvious....that how they sound is subjective and therefore different to everyone's taste/ear.

I picked up on the thread when your response to his perfectly good answer was noticeably laced with sarcasm. This is a very friendly forum and I can't quite figure exactly what it is that you require. :?

With utmost sincerity,
Joe

Like Frosty previously said, the sound is very subjective. I have played both and I have to say they both sound great for what they are. All I can really say is that the F30 sounds the way an F30 should and the old F47 I played sounded like a 20 year old F47. Both superb. Happy to help.
