Hi Folks, I Need a information about Guild D60 Rosewood and difference between D55. I found an opportunity for a 1987 D60. I could press the red button.....

I believe it is the same as a D-66 (the D-66 may have been renamed the D-60, or vice versa).

I *think* the construction should be similar between D-55 & D-60/D-66. Spruce & rosewood, scalloped bracing. Differences should be mostly cosmetic, as I recall. The D-60/D-66 have slotted-diamond fret markers.

I've never played a D-55 from the 80's, but I have played a D-66 and it has a very warm, deep, resonant voice. More-recent D-55 examples that I've played (from Tacoma & New Hartford) sound more chimey or piano-like.

All are fine guitars . . . just different flavors re: their tones. Hope that helps.

Be Be Be - question answered! That is an awesome guitar. Only drawback I see is, if you think COVID - 19 is making the days go by, slowly -- just order the D60. The days from shipping until it is delivered will be slower, still. Ha

I used to own a Rosewood D60. Spectacular example of a spruce/rosewood dread. It had that classic dread rumble, lots of presence and a bright crisp top end. Just a great guitar. Like many Guilds of that era it was a heavyweight. As I've gotten older (67 now) I've found dreads and jumbo's, long scales more uncomfortable to play. If that was not the case I'd never have parted with it.

Between maple and rosewood, I'd go rosewood. I have a JF-30 and an HD-28 and if I had to give one up, it would be the maple JF-30. YMMV, depending on what you already have, and what you're looking to do with it.

Edit - just re-read your first link and saw it's a RW. Sorry - I was looking at the link. I also have an 85 Guild D-50, but would reach for the HD-28 first.
Edit 2 - Jeez, it even says "rosewood" in the title.
