I just received my D26 and it's a very nice guitar. The natural mahogany finish is beautiful and not a scratch on it. Thanks again to West for his help in finding it.

Here are some pictures?

Nice, Fergi! A real beauty for sure! What year is that? I don't think I've ever seen a D26.

What are the differences between that and a D25 of the same era?

Thanks for sharing!

Wow! I'll have to echo what Nigel said. That is one beautiful piece of work and an education for me....I didn't know there WAS a D26. Thanks for sharing your score with us. She's definitely a keeper.

Thanks Nigel,

I'm not familiar with the D25 of the same era. The only obvious differences between it and my early 80’s D25 are the spruce top and the natural finish. I really do like the natural mahogany finish.

The D26 was an in store model made for some dealers. Pretty much the same as the D25 with the exception of the gold tuners.

I believe Hans will have more in Book II.

Not only do I congratulate you on a good score, but I must also give you major points for a nice photo session with this gorgeous 'supermodel.' The pillow is a nice touch.
Perhaps only a Guild lover could feel the sensual vibes emanating from those photos. Or maybe it's just me! Heck, I'm drooling in my morning coffee!

Enjoy that beauty,
Joe

Nice score, fergi. BTW, I talked with Ross Jennings yesterday and he said he has heard from you... Great guy; an absolutely outstanding and highly respected luthier.

Now all he needs, Dane, is a really nice avatar. I might do a little work on mine, too.

I’m thinking along the lines of a nice headstock shot…what do you think?

Also noticed the binding around top and back, otherwise looks just like my D25. Does it melt in your hands? ("play like butter")

 If I'd have wanted it, you'd have never seen it Fergi  . That thing was on Gbase for at least a year.....still can't believe nobody snatched that one up a long time ago. The binding on that is beige, not white right? Nah, I'm really a rosewood guy, but that's about the prettiest mahogany guitar I've ever seen, and I mean that. Love that thing. I'd like to play it next year in Arlington :) .

Yes, the binding is beige. I had to hold something white up against it to be sure.

Sure am glad you don't like mahogany.
