With the guitar I acquired today was a Guild acoustic catalogue that was sent by Guild with the other paperwork in January 1984.

The one GAD scanned is Catalog No. 8468 (titled as a 1980 catalogue), and this one is 8468-C, and has some minor, but interesting differences.

I am sure there are several, additional differences, but the main ones I noticed are the following:

Page A-2 - Different cases pictured

Page A-5 - D44 M discontinued

Page A-7. Clapton deleted

Page A-9 - F30R removed

A-19 - Changed reference to Barcus-Berry Hot Dots to “Factory-Installed Guild Transducer”

There are all kinds of weird variations of catalogs and even price lists. I'm sure Hans has most if not all of them because his catalog collection is profound.

It's worth remembering that the catalogs sometimes have mistakes in them, too, and aren't necessarily the source of truth we sometimes wish they were.

Yeah, but published at the time.... it's cool, huh?

Is that John Denver in the F50R illustration? By the way, I love that line: a guitar that can be controlled easily, to be gentle or forceful…

Back in the day, I used to grab lots of new catalogs as they came in.

The copy I kept from that era is #8468B. Comparing it to version C:
- Cases shown are earlier versions.
- D44M was already listed as discontinued.
- Clapton still appears on page 7.
- F30R is gone, but page 10 incorrectly pictures the earlier version of the F30.
- Barcus Berry Hot Dots are referenced on page 19.

I also kept Electric & Bass catalog #8420, and acoustic catalog #9000.

If anyone needs pages from these catalogs, I can take a photo & post them.
