Storing pictures on LTGs server also costs the host (i.e. Don) money.
I gladly paid $1,300 for my B-50 a couple months ago. That included an original case and shipping which I was told cost the seller $125 because of the size. My bass also has an aftermarket PU installed. Condition is outstanding. It isn't new but it is in as good or better shape than instruments I have owned since they were new. I'd like to believe my bass pretty much represents the cream of the market and that I got a bargain compared to basses in worse condition being offered in the $1,000 - $1,200 range.
Valuation is a tricky concept. There are a lot of folks interested in a B-50 but only if they can get it for less than $1,000. I think one could sell for as much as $1,500 provided that they buyer already knew about the B-50 and was specifically looking for one. That kind of buyer knows they aren't making them any more and that they don't come to market very often. But you have to be patient.
Note that I did not check your year and my comments and market observations are based upon the earlier years of production. Feel free to search for B-50 and posts by me, The Guilds of Grot and SmithFieldFair for more B-50 discussion.
