I read through this thread and my brain got fried. Can we start over?

Here is who I can think of right now:
Acoustic
John Denver
Bonnie Riatt
Mississippi John Hurt
Steve Miller
Paul Simon
Nick Drake
Johnny Cash
Eric Clapton
David Cosby
Justin Hayward

Electric
Duane Eddy
George Benson
Merle Travis
Tom Fogerty
John Fogerty

These are the ones I remember off the top of my head without reading the entire thread and without looking in Hans' book or googling people. Additions to the list would be great.

Wow, Chrissy was already my Tele-wielding idol... now I love her even more.

What model is that she's got? Looks like a beauty.

Hello fungus,

That's probably a mid-'80s F-20. Really cool with the dark sunburst top!

Sincerely,

Don't forget about John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, he plays Guild. Just watched him last night in a concert, he brings out his Guild for the better acoustic songs like Iris.

Ellen McIlwaine - Acoustic and electric

The late & much-missed Zal Yanovsky of the Lovin' Spoonful played an electric. Don't know the model - it looked like a partly-melted bar of chocolate.

I've also seen a clip of him on an F512 doing Roger Hodgson's 'Give a Little Bit' (aka Supertramp)

Do you want bass?

Jack Casady/Jefferson Airplane
Phil Lesh/Grateful Dead
?/Lovin' Spoonful
?/Turtles? (need to check memory)
?/ w/Buddy Guy

That's a start on the Starfire Hall of Fame.

I know there are/were several high profile Pilot players although the names escape me at the moment.

In addition to checking Han's book, you can get an idea of Guild players from the ads that people frame and sell on eBay 8)

The model Zal played was also played for a while by Muddy Waters.

Recent Guild Thunderbird players (with the built in guitar stand in the back) have been Mike Campbell (Petty's Heartbreakers) and Pel from The Hives.

Here is Pel receiving his Thunderbird purchased from my good friend Joe Luppino in Chicago.

I suspect many guitarists at some point have come in contact with a Guild 12'er. For instance a qualified guess would be the twelvestring played on the Roxette song Watercolours In The Rain is a Guild. BTW didn't Kottke, mr 12-string himself, have a brief history with one?

Also, if somebody has ever watched the movie Nottinghill there's a 6 string being played as part of the soundtrack.

I'd like to believe that, but I have never seen him with one in all the concerts I've attended since 1971. It would seem like he must have tried one somewhere along the way, but ... I've never seen one on his LP covers, in any articles written about him, videos of him, or any place else. Help us out, sitka_spruce. Got any other details? Anybody got some evidence? Of course you're not likely to see him with a Guild since his Taylor signature model was introduced, and for years he played a Bozo. (Ask california about that fella!) But it would be cool to know that he at least experimented with a Guild at some time or another.
