Unfortunately, I was initially suspicious and had little disposable income at the time. Pretty much all free capital went into paying down my brutal mortgage. Hind sight is 20-20. I would have been better off putting the extra mortgage payments into bitcoin.

There was a kid in Oslo who put a bit of his allowance money into bitcoin when it was new and then promptly forgot the password for his wallet. It took him a decade or more of sporadic attempts to guess his password before he was successful. By this time he had enough money in the wallet to buy a luxury two bedroom condo in downtown Oslo.

My nephew begged his parents to let him buy some Bitcoin for a school project when it was at $20 or so. His mistake was in trying to sell them on the idea that it could be used to buy weed on the dark web (which he wanted to "write about", so they said no way. He'd be buying his own house now, but we all laugh because we know he's have blown it all on weed from the dark web. LOL

I have a pile of Dogecoin from when it was $0.05. Right around then I bought a bag of coffee beans with Doge because that's just the kind of thing people did. When Doge hit $0.68 the Doge I spent on that bag of coffee would have been worth $272.

Right after the big eclipse, someone at work wanted to buy one of my prints. He paid me in 1/2 ETH which at the time was worth about $50. Today the value of 1/2 ETH is about $1500. I like crypto for a lot of reasons but using a volatile asset to buy stuff is a weird experience.

Also back when Bitcoin was still in the $20 range I thought, "I should build a miner" and decided against it because I knew it would consume me and my garage would be 200 degrees while my wife yelled at me about the electric bill.

Should have built that miner...
