My man at Elderly, Scott Gierman, finished up the maintenance on my '76 D25M, I just picked it up today. He did a stellar job, as usual.
Here's the rundown - there were 2 top cracks, one was in the middle of the lower bout from the bottom to the soundhole, he glued and cleated this one. There was another parallel crack to that one, about 1/2" to the right, but it wasn't through the top so he just injected glue into that one. Levelled and polished the frets, glued/filled a small crack in the Braz bridge with a Braz dust/epoxy mix. Buffed the whole body finish. Installed new strings, DA Phosphor Bronze Bluegrass EJ's19's.
Sounds like angels singing from Heaven...
Now I'm gonna have to wear all those grooves back into the frets where the John Prine songs are, LOL.
The bill came to $225.00 - that's what I paid for the guitar new...I said, "Well I guess it's good to go now for the next 44 years!"
