Interestingly enough, I'd posted on AGF asking if others knew what was going on - the threads I posted in were deleted. A new thread was created to say LTG was down, but then that thread was locked.

I guess it makes sense, they don't want their forum cluttered with threads about another forum.

The moderator over there was tongue-in-cheek. Said they ought to have a sticky on LTG being down. I thought he was out of line closing the thread, but appreciated the humor.

I don't. I did scan the site for threads about LTG and even saw some of our members' posts, but nothing current 'bout LTG.
So stuff 'em, I'm glad I didn't register.
Gimme a heavy-handed LTG moderator any day over somebody who closes a thread just 'cause it's about another forum. That ain't even controversial.
Jeez, what, are they payin' by the byte for their service over there?
Betcha they don't tolerate veers and consider it hijacking too.

Someone else had just posted another thread about LTG, but that one got closed down quick, too. Here's a link. Odd.

I thought it was rather stingy on their part as well.

We slam the door on what we view as offensive or incendiary stuff here. You guys know that. I think they live by very different rules on the AGF. I have no idea why they wouldn't let threads stand asking about other forums. Of course, you wouldn't find that here since this is the *only* place to be. ;)

That said, I did get a chance to catch up on the luthiers' forum there, which is really wonderful reading. There are some amazing folks there, and unfortunately a lot of it gets drowned out by the morons.

Well, hard to keep it classy... I PM'ed the mod who's been closing the threads down, here's the exchange:

yes, that is correct.

Keep in mind that these threads have been showing up in the Open Mic forum, which has the following description:

Discussions that are of interest to our community and not necessarily related to acoustic guitars or music. NO POLITICAL or RELIGIOUS discussions allowed. Remember: Be nice and keep it clean! No for-sale items please.

I guess we're kind of religious about Guilds around here, maybe that was the offense.

Y'oughta go back and ask 'im which is it, not welcome or not allowed?
Really put the screws to 'im.
I'd do it myself but then I'd have to join 'em.
'Course, you may be more easy going than me.
That's probabaly a good thing.

8) ^^^ Indeed. 'Just seeking clarification on the matter'.
Lawyers have made millions out of written replies to such seemingly innocuous requests.
JC, I'm beginning to be truly awed by the depth of your subtlety.
Starting to wonder if that guy even felt the needle going in?
Next, somebody make that guy an honorary moderator here and introduce 'im to the torches and pitchforks squad.
Our regular moderators could stand a little vacation......
