I should probably add that I've owned a bunch of analog fuzz pedals (a few that were specifically 60's voiced) and none have been able to get very close

It sounds like a Maestro Fuzz to me with the settings maxed out with bass emphasais. A number of these are on ebay. I beleive they were reissued about 8 years ago when Gibson/Maestro uncovered a NOS box of pnp transistors. The origional was the classic used on Satisfaction and they came with 1 input and the output had a chord and plug that went into the amp. The reissue has seperate in and out jacks.

Got to try out a Z-Vex fuzz factory locally and absolutely fell in love with it. It also can get very close to this sound, but has seemingly endless other possibilities... maybe I've finally found "the one" fuzzzzzzz

Hi M.G, glad you liked the Fuzz Factory, great pedals they are. I still use mine for both bass and guitar.
Did you get to check out that band `Black Merda`?
Cheers Mate
