Just saw a promo for tonight's Letterman with a shot of musical guest Bill Carter(I think?) and the unmistakable headstock of a Guild 12-string, an F-512, I believe.

"Beautiful guitar!", said David Letterman, as he complimented the band and said goodnight to the audience.

While it certainly could be rosewood, it looked to me to be a cabernet finish maple F-412 with a Sunrise pickup, but I have never seen that particular rosette pattern around the sound hole. Regardless, it is always great to see and hear a Guild 12 string.

Thank you for the "heads up".

Certainly not the best angle, but unmistakably a Guild, and if Dave liked it..... 8)

Thanks, Chris, for the heads-up. Thanks, Joe, for the video. :D

Boy, that Guild just shined.....and, the sound is, unmistakenly, Guild 12-string!

P.S. Johnny Depp added a nice touch, too. 8)

I did find it a bit silly to be playing an acoustic for a one song set, and then he has this huge pedal board set up at his feet.

Oh, that was great. Dave could have complimented Bill Carter on his hat and shoes but he takes a pause amid the applause and says: "Beautiful guitar, that's lovely!" I wonder if Dave is a player?

Great clip! Those cigar box tenors sure are getting some air time. Two very different uses of it so far, both excellent - Sir Paul's heavy rock, and Bill Carter's band mellow slide.

For those who might be interested, the Austin PBS station featured Bill Carter and the Blame in a recent Arts in Context episode. Until I saw the video, I had no idea Bill Carter was connected to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Learn something everyday. I didn't see any Guild 12-string (or any Guilds, in fact) in the video. Did I miss them? :? :?:

It seems the tenor cigar box resonator is Bill's. :)

P.S. SXSW is just around the corner. 8) :D

Matty Baratto Resofiddle cigarbox tenor guitar (looks a bit different than the one Bill is playing).
