Maybe it's a coincidence or maybe someone was listening.
As we've mused about marketing strategies for Guild, some of us commented that Fretboard Journal would be a great place for some visibility if Guild really wants to tap into more of a boutique market (as its pricing suggests). Well, I got a copy of the Fretboard Journal Newsletter in my email today and they preview the Winter issue briefly, with the following teaser:
What's in Winter? Well, without letting the cat completely out of the bag, we have a great pictorial of 1959 Les Paul bursts (we gathered quite a collection of these rare beasts), an incredible, lengthy Bela Fleck interview and a great photo essay of the new Guild Guitars factory. And a whole lot more!
I find this an interesting development that might bode well. At a minimum, it will bring the message of the new Guilds to a wider, highly-engaged audience. It'll be fun to see what they say. Does anyone know who wrote the piece?
