I bought one of those brand new in 1973. Quoted price of $970 (w/case), paid $475.00 plus a Hummingbird in trade. I still have the original sales slip and the Gibson brochure. Most beautiful, best playing guitar I ever owned. That, and a Fender silver-faced Vibrolux Reverb ($410, paid $80.00 plus Deluxe Reverb in trade for that) were my most prized possessions. Wish I still had them.

So why did I sell them, you ask? Lost my job, got broke when I couldn't find work, sold everything else I owned except my car and the clothes on my back. Broke my heart when they went, but a man has to eat.

Didn't touch a guitar for 25 years after that.

Thats a lot better than my story, Jeff. I played one back in the 90's at a music store in Dallas. Maybe I should have tried it with a Vibrolux!
