Buddy of mine offered to kick me one of these for shipping out of the blue tonight....I'm mostly a metal player and while I like to put together partscasters, this guitar is missing a bridge and a pickup.

Talked to a buddy who's a tech and he thinks the bridge might be proprietary and have to be special ordered from Guild....any thoughts on whether this is correct?

Also, as mentioned above, the pickup is missing...as there's scarce info about these guitars out there, I'd like to know what pickup is needed for this.

Thanks in advance, looks like a fun forum!

Welcome. No answers for you except the observation that Guild itself does not seem to have many parts available unless they are for the Newark Street models or something else in current production.

I went to the Westerly site to remind myself about the Paloma. http://westerlyguildguitars.com/guitars/paloma.html
Since this was a part Fishman project, you might check with them to see if they could help.nthe control box looks custom, so finding one that would fit the opening is going to be a challenge, but I'm gonna guess that it's a regular under saddle wire.

Is this our old friend FNG? If so, welcome back! I think Chris' information might be helpful, also, you may want to contact Hans. I know that he ended up with a lot of parts when Westerly closed, and there's certainly no harm in asking. Of course, the guitar was made at the custom shop in Nashville, but the parts may have originated in RI.

Appreciate it guys. I haven't found anything out about the bridge, but I emailed Guild last night and hope they'll have a response.

I did find a review of this guitar out in the void, and the guy was kind enough to mention that the pickup was a 'Fishman Matrix Transducer Preamp'...whatever that is. Hit up eBay, and found some side mounts that look like they might fit, at around $250-$350, so I might start there.

Thanks!

Welcome to LTG.

Here's a picture how that electronics box would have looked like: http://mlb-s2-p.mlstatic.com/violo-...-americano-415801-MLB20405882613_092015-F.jpg
The SC3 Paloma is no longer manufactured, it was mostly made in the longtime closed Guild Custom Shop in Nashville, TN. Some were also made in the now also closed Guild factory in Corona/CA in 2003 (?) and 2004.

Guild in Oxnard/CA won't have Paloma parts I am afraid and I don't think they know a lot about that model at all...
Really your best bet is to contact Hans Moust in The Netherlands through his webpage: http://www.guitarchives.nl/guitarsgalore/contact.php
He would know what type of the Custom Fishman Acoustic Matrix electronics was used and he would also know about the bridge.

Regarding year of manufacture, there should be a 7 or 8 digit serial number on the back of the headstock (if it is from Nashville seven or 8 digits only, if it would be from Corona 3 letters and 6 digits).
If it has only numbers and no letters the fourth from the end and the last digit in reverse are the year of manufacture, and the 3rd and 2nd from the end, this time in order, are the month.
As example: This one was made in April 2000: http://mlb-s2-p.mlstatic.com/guild-paloma-sc3-nylon-529201-MLB20292227816_052015-F.jpg
That system does not apply if it would be a Corona made one, in that case you would need to ask Hans for the exact year of manufacture. We know from Hans that for instance serial number CPC000028 was made in Corona in year 2004.

Much appreciated...I shot Hans an email to see what he could tell me or what he had in stock. Regarding the serial number, it looks to be CZ500121; that would be a Corona build then?

No idea, the one Corona serial number that was discussed in the past was CPC000028, and I had seen some others with CPC serial numbers. I don't know what CZ500121 could be. But Hans will tell you, he will know.

By the way: Sting still loves his Paloma SC3, as does Dominic Miller, see here if you scroll down: http://www.letstalkguild.com/ltg/showthread.php?185561-Guild-Siting-Sting-and-Paul-Simon
