...I say. Just sent Tom my beloved '73 SFIV natural hog all the way from Cali and had to file an official report. Installed new frets and nut, repaired caveman work previously done to the inlays, leveled the fretboard, touched up a couple of old repairs, replaced the knob markers, added a Bigsby (couldn't track down a Guildsby, unfortunately), and set it up properly - all for a fair price and in short order. Wow. Check it out:

Tom really does amazing work. Totally worth the shipping hassle and extra expense when you know it's going to get done right. Now, when i can scrape together some cash, he gets my S100 Deluxe...

WOW! It looks fantastic! Just curious on the size and type of fret you went with?

I've had a few guitars pose in front of that same plant. In Tom we trust. :fat:

Nice! That looks brand new. I prefer those drilled bridges to the floating bridge. Was that a change or did it come to you like that?

Maybe Tom can chime in with specifics about the frets. I liked the stock wire, so we just went with that. It came to me with the current bridge.

Hello astav,

Looks like a nice one, but I have a question. Isn't that guitar a little earlier than 1974?

Sincerely,

The fret wire used was .080 wide and .050 tall very close to what was on the guitar originally. Not as tall once installed, leveled, and re-crowned. Probably about .045

I love that wood/finish combo! just completely stunning... Someday I should scrape up the $$ to send my '66 STV to Tom for a total freshen..My frets are about shot, recoverable to play with another light filing, but probably never again, binding needs a little work etc....I would really love to see mine come back looking and playing like yours has. Concgrats to both owner and tech!

I will probably be able to look it over for you this coming summer in person maybe! I plan to be in Portland to visit my daughter.
