And speaking of left-handed smoke shifters, there's the entire left-handed family of fine tools: left-handed monkey wrenches, left-handed screw drivers, left-handed crescent wrenches, and so on and so on and so on.

I used to work with a carpenter. Whenever a board was too short he'd shout, "Put 'er on the board stretcher!"

But as a guit-picker, the most important tool in my arsenal is my trusty talent pedal.

For years I really really really tried to make my friend who was roadie in super-popular guitar band here to have the guitar-player ( who also was my friend ) have a gray box w single switch on the pedal board . . . . Occasionally the guitar player woul step on that switch between songs - and those eager observants would come to my friend after gig asking : "What does that pedal do?" - and he'd say "I dunno, but I have one extra - you can have it for 100€" - naturally that box would really not have anything but straight wire between connectors - all else expect them connectrors and battery cast in epoxy . . .

Unfortunately my money-machine never ever turned to be anything productive . . .

I have had so many people ask me for a "wi-fi cable" that I don't consider this fictional any more. What they usually want is a real ethernet cable that connects their wi-fi access point to a wired portion of their network.
