Feeling like spending over a quarter million on an amp?

I built a clone, using 68 Twin transformers, a Ceriatone kit and some self sourced parts.
It is a great amp. I also built a Dumbleator active effects loop and two TL806 cabs with EVM12s in them, and I have never
had anything that sounded so good for outdoor gigs, or large rooms. There is no fall-off in the sound, the projection is amazing.
But the head alone weighs 50 lbs, and even with the half power switch I put in it, I just don't need that power anymore.
It was a challenging project and I really enjoyed doing it. The way HAD designed the power supply has a major effect on the amp's function.
The output section is very stiff and clean, the overdrive comes from the preamp section and is very controllable.
A great design.

Great amps, but not for this amount of money. Every well built clone is a way better investment in you own sound.

They gone way up--five years ago a Dumble combo could be had for around $70K.
Still absurd, I mean it's an amp, not the Taj Mahal, but somewhat less ridiculous the a quarter mil.

Michael, yours is a custom amp, right? I seem to remember you posted about it a long way back... Do you have the link?
No, but here is a photo:

Knock, knock, knockin' on Dumble's door...
One time, I was selling some of my junk at my parents' garage sale, and I (accidentally) put a price tag on a copy of the single "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" so that it covered up the KNO.

Much hilarity ensued.
