HI Donal; Yep, nice! Welcome aboard! Just to make sure it gets said, has anybody warned you about the plastic on the stand, it can react badly with the lacquer on the guitar. A few people here put cloth covers over those little plastic sleeves for that reason.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the kind words. Them be good ol' plastic bridge pins, as I recollect, and just now looked and look like plastic. As for plastic on the stands reacting with the finish, done found out about that first hand. This'n has a couple small spots on the back of the neck where the finish softened from a reaction with the tubing. Seems like I had left it sitting in the stand for an extended period at the time when it occurred. Haven't had this happen with any of my other instruments-yet.Would rather it not have happened, but am not too concerned. It's got other dings and scrapes here and there. Sort of goes with the guitar's persona :D
And I have thought about the cloth on the tubing. may get around to doing that soon.

Donal, just to further your photo posting education, at the bottom of the menu that pops up when you run your mouse over the picture in photobucket, is an IMG Code. If you you click on it and "highlight" it, you then just need to right click and hit "copy". You can then "paste" your photos directly into the thread!

(Nice looking guitar by the way! :D )

Is that a "scuff" on the side or just glare? If it's a scuff, it should come off with a little Naphtha (Lighter fluid) and elbow grease.

Hey! Thank you so much. I had wondered how you guys were able to get the pics to appear in your posts. That is a scuff of some kind. It was on the guitar when I got it. Think I see some lighter fluid in my near future :D

A question about this beautiful guitar: is it the same size of the later JF-30-12?

It looks her to me, just with hog sides and back...

They are both nominally 17" Jumbos, but dimensions, and possibly shape do vary some over the years somewhat. They vary in small amounts, usually no more than 1/2" from what they are normall described as (so either the F212XL or the JF30-12 could be anywhere from about 16 1/2" to just over 17" at the lower bout, similar dimensional differences may occur in the upper bout, or the waist, or body length or body depth). But they would both be described as 17" Jumbos.

Judging by the whiteness of the bindings, I would definitely guess that XL hasn't seen any sun. Looks wonderful.

That scuff should come out with a little elbow grease, Don. It might still leave a scratch, but you can get the white stuff off easily.
