Has anyone played the new F-47R ?? I've been looking at them at the Friend's website ... Prices sure have gone up since I bought my last new Guild in '99 ... There is a Dealer about 50 miles away but they don't have one in stock for me to play , would'nt buy from them anyway since the new Guilds they stock , they seperate the guitar from the case and then price the guitar alone at full list , L O L ... Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on them , thanks ......

Jerry,

The closest I've come with the new Guilds is the F50R that I posted about fairly recently. If you'll scoll back a page, you might find that post to see /read my thoughts, and of course the others that followed.

I hope it will be helpful, even though I missed the model number by .... three!

Sure took you a while to make your first post, eh Jerry! :)

Welcome aboard. And, no, I haven't played or seen anyone review a new F-47R.

Welcome aboard! I can see an army of LTGers heading out to their local dealers this weekend to try and answer your question (no local Guild dealers, so I can't)....Dave

Thanks for the replys , and the welcome ...
Joe , I did go back and look at your posting on the F-50 , interesting that your reaction was the same as mine regarding the price , L O L ...
Chazmo , when I registered , I was just getting into my busy season and just have'nt had a lot of time ... My band plays out at least twice a month also ... Puts a crimp on doing more of this fun stuff , L O L ... Getting into my slow time now ( at least untill we start getting snow to move ) ...
Once again , thanks for the replys and the welcome ...

Hi. I bought a F47M back in spring '08. If they quality is the same you really cant go wrong. I wanted a grand orchestra size but still wanted it to be deep in the bout. This met my requirements. It depends on what type of requirements you have. Mine is a 2007. From what I understand, the Guild factory was turning out some higher than average quality guitars out of the Tacoma factory from 2005-2007. I would recommend looking for one during that time period.
