Ship the wrong guitar to a buyer?

I had that happen to me years ago. A guy shipped me the wrong G&L. It was an insanely rare model that I didn't know about (at the time). When I notified him of the error he admitted that he asked his dad to ship the guitar, but he grabbed the wrong one. Of course, I also asked many questions about the rarebird.

Well, it was tempting, but we decided to return the Jumbo Junior Bass. I've played bass only a little. My husband plays, but the extra short scale was weird for him. Unfortunately it looks like the M-140 won't be in stock until september. o_O

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered and received and returned a Jumbo Junior bass a year or so ago. I didn't care for the feel or the sound.
Bass is a tough buy for a guitar player. You have to get the right one(s).
I'm sure the M140 will be worth the wait.

Well I've got about a month and a half to go. Hopefully that doesn't get extended again. Although I just got a notification the other day from another Guild dealer that they just got some M140s in stock. So now I'm wondering how that works out. If Guild gets x amount of guitars in and they're sent to dealers, does one dealer get all the stock they have on order, or do they spread them around to different dealers? Or maybe it goes by the time they ordered them? 🤔 Secretly hoping the dealer I ordered from will send me a notification soon that it is on the way, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

During the FMIC days my dealer told me that Guild shipped orders in the order they were received and accepted. An order was accepted when a deposit was received, typically 50% of the MSRP.

Got a notification the other day that the M140 I ordered back in May was finally on the way. After the first time when I was received a bass instead, and other delays, I wasn't getting my hopes up until I had it in hand. Lo and behold it is an actual M140 this time. 😆 This guitar is exactly what I was looking for. It handles strumming well, it comfortable to play and sounds great. Perfect complement to my OM120.
A couple of differences with this one vs the OM120; the former came with a button for the heel that I had to install myself, this M140 had one already screwed in. Also the tuners are slightly different in that they have screws in the knobs where the OM120 does not. This one also came with some case candy. I little fabric pouch containing the manual, a couple stickers, a couple picks, the strangest allen wrench/truss rod adjuster I've seen yet, and also some kind of plug I'm not sure about? Bonus points if anyone knows what it is. There are no electronics on this one. Anyway.

Well I guess patience is a virtue. So 3-4 month backordered. Wow that is in high demand. Looking forward to your review of this model !

It's a clip-on soundhole pickup!

I think most people use it clipped to the headstock and run to an electronic tuner...doubt a little contact mic like that would sound very good clipped to the soundhole and run to an amplifier...maybe just a little practice amp where sound quality isn't an issue.

Same question just discussed in another thread:
