Craig (Idealassets) and I had a good time listen to the music at East River and he brought and played his JF65-12 and also his '65 F312. Craig, it was good to finally meet face to face.

By the way, Craig has pictures that he'll have to post.....

Folks,
It was great to join the East River Folk Society tonight. This group is truly a great one, having many friendly members to meet. They also played a wide variety of material, including some Christmas music, cowboy ballads Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young, Michael Murphy, and others.

I would encorage anyone to come and join this group. And bring a Guild guitar! Players with Martins of variuos models outnumbered any other make of guitar for the 12/10 session.

Oh yes, and I played too! Check out the action photos:

Yours truly:

@Joe.... "The Cowboys", our President and Vice President, say that only they can where cowboy hats ! I guess the rest of us are allowed to wear any other type of hat. Craig (Idealassets) did good and definitely wore an apporpriate hat !

I suppose our hats were not coordinated so great, but for me it was brisk way down in southern Michigan, thus the hat. Then it made my hair a mess, so the hat stayed on.

But you should have seen the cowboy hats, and cowboy boots that I saw! I never would have guessed that there were a few wranglers wearing black in Detroit. One fellow had a black finish Gibson SJ200 to match the theme.

The score was 2 cowboys, 2 cabbies, 2 Guilds, 2 Gibsons, lots of Martins, and 1 Fender electric Bass. Oh yes, and 1 Neil Young falsetto specialist.
