Hello everyone,

I've returned to LTG after a few years off, but I continue to search for an early or mid-1950s x-550. The aim there is for one of the early, long scale versions. I've also been looking for the x-550P, produced in impossibly small numbers, with the main one going I believe to Dave Gonzalez.

I know this is the search of all searches and that I"m not alone in this (I've been looking for about 8 years now, just missing out two or three times thus far) but if someone is considering selling, please feel free to contact me!

Many thanks, and glad to be back!

Can't help you with your search, but wanted to point out that all of the New Hartford built archtops are 25 1/2" scale. You may have a better shot at scoring a Franz reissue NH guitar.

Huh, both the T's are 25 1/2 scale. I admit to being wrong. Guess that's why the SF 6 doesn't feel as comfy.

All very helpful, many thanks. I think the GSR 500t is very close, certainly looks fantastic. But they're thin, is that right? Might do fine in the meantime -- I've not wanted to put myself in a position where I couldn't afford the x550p or early x550 if it turned up. But still, they're not turning up … :)

I thought so, thanks! So it's the T-500's and the T-400's that are longscale.
