After the cost of a neck reset someone will be almost at the price of a decent condition one that doesn't have cracks down the front. "Nothing to see here... keep moving, keep moving please."

Another guitar succombs to humidity neglect.

This could be a good buy. A week in humidity might help get this thing back into shape. Those long soundboard cracks are completely cleatable, although they will always show. I agree with you guys, though, that a neck reset will likely be needed. Hard to tell for sure though.

I wondered if just a truss adjustment would make it a real nice player. Imagine having a DV-52 as your "beater!" But, with a D-50 and D-55, I am all set with rosewood dreads (for now).

I think Gardman might be right. The pictures aren't too clear but from the looks of that neck it could just need a truss rod adjustment. It seems to me like it's got too much relief. I enlarged the picture and it also appears that there's a decent amount of sadddle left - but it's really hard to tell. The cracks don't bother me as long as they're stable. You should see my GF-40.

I don't know if you'd really want to do that. Its got a repaired headstock break, a 10" repaired crack in upper side, two 4" top cracks, nunmerous gouges and finish cracks, and a lot of crazing. The finish was worn off the neck - I brushed some clear poly on to smooth it out - and (somehow) also off the black plastic headstock plate. Someone criminally abused this poor guy. But It sounds and plays great, and, in terms of pure tone, it may be my favorite Guild six string. If I want to look at a Guild guitar I'll get a poster, if I want to play one this would probably be it. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

How about that F-30?
