Hi,

I'm new here, just got the email confirming my registration, and I have a question regarding the finish on my 1993 DV-52 NT (serial number EK10XXXX). It has a matte finish, and as it was bought used, it needs a little bit of TLC in terms of a setup (pretty standard for a used guitar), and has a couple of dings that I would like to have touched up. A good friend of mine is actually a very experienced luthier, and is more than willing to undertake the work, but he asked if the finish, which is admirably thin, is nitro or something else. I told him I didn't know, and I'd try to find out, which is why I am here. Does anybody know? I thought it might be some sort of poly finish because its matte, but he told me that nitro could be matte as well.

Hello kostask,

Tell your friend that the satin finish on your DV52 is nitro cellulose lacquer.

Good luck!

Mr. Moust/Hans;

Thanks for the confirmation, and taking the time to reply.
