None of the Contemporary models I've played sound like traditional Guilds to me--not worse or better, just not Guild-like. Tacoma Guilds, on the other hand, sound very much like the dozens of '60s Guilds I've tried, and if something catastrophic happened to my '65 D-40, I would probably replace it with a Tacoma-period instrument.

I think the web site is accurate these days, at least the "NEW Instruments" pull down. It even lists the recent GSR limiteds. Anything that's a GAD has GAD in the model name prefix. And, the DV Series is listed separately. So the Artist Series (currently only the Richie Havens), Traditional Series, and GSR Series are all made in NH. The pricelist... Hmm, that could have older models in it, I guess. I haven't looked at it recently.
I spot check periodically, now "Copyright 2010". Normally any mfr's price list would be for current production, not "NOS". There have been periods however when discontinued models were listed or current production models weren't, simply because the site hadn't been updated. And of course some stuff may be on there because it's formally planned even if they haven't made 'em yet.

Yup, you could make that comparison. The dimensions and the wood are close, I'm sure, Jim. Note: GADs are made with a polyester finish vs. the New Hartford traditional nitrocellulose... The appointments on the GSR are very special and unique and I'm not sure they can be compared reasonably with the GAD model. It would be fun to have 'em side-by-side. I suspect that's not really what Guild wants. But, yes... technically they are similar.

IMHO, that sums it up perfectly.

Whenever I see "NH" used to indicate where a Guild was made, I ALWAYS see "NH" and think "New Hampshire"....
Dubba,
I do that too. I think it's just something we're going to have to deal with ourselves.
