Doc: Rosa Lee, it’s so good to be home. You know I love to sing for folks, but it sure is good to be home. Did I miss anything while I was gone?

Rosa Lee: Oh, Doc, not much happened. Just had a few folks stop by to see you. You know they do that now and then.

Doc: I just can’t for the life of me understand why anyone thinks I’m that special they’d want to drop by and see me.

Rosa Lee: It’s just because you’re such a friendly guy and they love your music. One of the young couples that stopped buy came all the way from Houston. They were on their way to the Appalachian Trail do to some hiking and camping and stopped by here first. Hoping to meet you.

Doc: Houston, huh? That is quite a ways. Sorry I missed them. Do you happen to remember their names?

Rosa Lee: I can’t recall the gal’s name, but the young man was called Joe. They sure were friendly and nice. Wish you could have met them.

Doc: Me, too.

Thanks for the story, Joe. ::::softsmile::::

So sad, what a legacy. simple progressions, simple lyrics and the easiest listening fastpicking you ever heard. RIP Doc.

If I may...
I am honored and humbled and getting pounded because several of my videos are "suggested videos" at the end of Doc Watson songs...

This one is particularly cool
http://youtu.be/La-QiWzwgOM

I have had a nearly 1000 view a day bump since he passed.
Doc Watson taught me so much and he's still giving...

May the soil lie lightly on your soul old friend.

ps. The kottke meets bob dylan vid is pretty funny too. worth a watch.
