Back in the early 70's I owned an F-212, which I traded away around 74. To this day I can't remember if it was an F-212 or an F-212XL. I was told by my guitar repairman that it had a cedar top. So, I'm curious about the answer to that question as well.

Well, I see no mention of cedar in Hans' book, guys. I don't think I've ever seen a Guild from that period with a cedar top, but that's hardly exhaustive.

Marc, you are right about the CO-1, and I don't know if any GADs have cedar.

I got to try a CO-1 recently. IMHO, it was the best guitar in the store. It sounded great, and was very playable.

I'm very partial to the sound of a Cedar top.

Three of my VN guitars (1 classical), have a Cedar top & some
kind of Rosewood back & sides, (Indian, Vietnamese & Cambodian).

I love the combination of Cedar & Rosewood.
