Which one would you keep, and why?

I've already made my choice. Entertain yourselves with discussion while I develop more photos. :)

I'd keep the sunburst, just because it's sunburst.

I honestly can't make up my mind. I think I'd keep the burst just because it's got the pickguard. I can't say I feel strongly about that decision though. The red is killer.

Good luck.

I'm loving that red finish - easy decision for me!

You guys are a riot. I have a personal rule about having only one of any guitar type unkess i'm performing.

I have the pick guard for the red one.

One of them will be listed here for what I paid for it. A few asked to be notified, and I'll do my best to do that.

One of them wows me, and one of them doesn't based on looks alone. They both play and sound great. The pics don't do either of them justice. :)

I would keep the red one because it is more rare and looks cool. I have aBurst and a Blond and I decided to keep both because some day I'm pulling the P90s out of the Blond and installing a set of vintage Franz pups.

Although the sunburst is pretty, my gut reaction was for the red one. If it were me, like matsickma, I'd change the pickups in one of them for a different configuration--maybe some Dearmond Dynasonics--which then makes it a totally new guitar! :rapture:

Am I imagining things, or is the burst slightly thicker? If so they would technically be different and would therefore justify keeping both. :joyous:

Burst for me too. The reds have never appealed to me (otherwise I'd probaby already own a NS SFIII by now....).

I like the Burst but the Black P90 covers take away from the overall look of the Burst to me, It is almost like they clash with the finish of the guitar. I personally think the Black P90's compliment the Cherry finish Nicely and therefore I would go with the Cherry finish. Now if the Burst had Cream colored or Vintage White pickup covers I think that would be Awesome, I even think they would look great with the black pick guard and Knobs that are on it already. :encouragement:

Personally I would keep them both, They are only going to go up in value due to the rarity of the P90 models. I have been trying to convince myself to sell mine for 2 months now because I am not playing it on a regular basis. Everytime I convince myself I should Sell it I plug it in and play it and the whole process starts all over again! LOL

It's very hard to capture, but the sunburst guitar is actually VERY flamey. The red one has a great flamed top, too, but the red covers it up to the point that it's very hard to see. That's a shame, because if the red were more transparent that guitar would be a knockout.

Keep them both, put some TV Jones T-Armond P90's on one, and Leave the stock Duncan Antiquities P90's on the other one. Then you have 2 different guitars. If you ever decide to go back to performing you have one to play and one to put back to original for a backup. Or you can accessorize your guitar with you stage clothes, Really the possibilities are limitless. LOL.

Actually, there may be a complication to my originally stated plan. I'll have to sleep on it, though.

So you're keeping both? Glad we could help.

:D

Well, yes... and no.

I've decided that the guitar will remain on permanent loan with my daughter. A year or two ago I bought her a nice acoustic, and within the last six months or so she's actually started to sound pretty good. She's a freshman in high school, and if the guitar keeps her off the damn Internet and away from the TV, then I'm all for it. She's also managed to play her first guitar for countless hours looking at chord charts online without putting a single ding into it, so there's hope she'll take care of this one.

Why not just outright give it to her? Because this way she can't sell it to fund her next iPhone. :)

So far she's in love with it. It's easier to play than the acoustic and I think she'll finally be able to master those barre chords that have been giving her trouble.

Oh, I suppose you'd like to know which one she got. :) She has the red one. She's been upstairs playing it for two hours. That's better than whatever money I might have reclaimed by selling it.

Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up, but I really did have every intention of selling one of them. When I walked by her room and heard her playing a pretty good rendition of "Hallelujah", though, she pretty much blew me away. You see, this is the kid that complained about every chord I showed her a year ago because they made her fingers hurt. She has since decided to learn to play on her own terms, and she's doing a damn good job. I only step in when I think she needs to be nudged out of a bad habit or to learn something she's been avoiding.

Time to update my sig. :)
