So you're keeping both? Glad we could help.
Well, yes... and no.
I've decided that the guitar will remain on permanent loan with my daughter. A year or two ago I bought her a nice acoustic, and within the last six months or so she's actually started to sound pretty good. She's a freshman in high school, and if the guitar keeps her off the damn Internet and away from the TV, then I'm all for it. She's also managed to play her first guitar for countless hours looking at chord charts online without putting a single ding into it, so there's hope she'll take care of this one.
Why not just outright give it to her? Because this way she can't sell it to fund her next iPhone.
So far she's in love with it. It's easier to play than the acoustic and I think she'll finally be able to master those barre chords that have been giving her trouble.
Oh, I suppose you'd like to know which one she got.
She has the red one. She's been upstairs playing it for two hours. That's better than whatever money I might have reclaimed by selling it.
Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up, but I really did have every intention of selling one of them. When I walked by her room and heard her playing a pretty good rendition of "Hallelujah", though, she pretty much blew me away. You see, this is the kid that complained about every chord I showed her a year ago because they made her fingers hurt. She has since decided to learn to play on her own terms, and she's doing a damn good job. I only step in when I think she needs to be nudged out of a bad habit or to learn something she's been avoiding.
Time to update my sig.
