Hello!

I'm trying to date my Guild Starfire IV made in Corona, serial # CW00099. I've made extensive searches and can't find any information that could help.
I thought I might be lucky by asking here. Couldn't find the information on the Guild date chart.

My other question is probably stupid, but, how should the tune-o-matic bridge be positionned, should the harmonic adjustment screws be facing the bridge pickup or facing the tailpiece? Someone told me that my bridge is in the wrong position (screws facing pickup). I searched on the internet and I'm finding pictures of the bridge positioned in both ways, so I'm confused...

Any input appreciated,

Cheers,

Phil

Hello Phil,

Your Guild Starfire IV was made during the year 2003.

My other question is probably stupid, but, how should the tune-o-matic bridge be positionned, should the harmonic adjustment screws be facing the bridge pickup or facing the tailpiece?

If your Guild Starfire IV still has the original bridge, you will notice that the top section of the bridge saddles is higher on one side. The highest side should face the pickups, which means that the adjustment screws will be on that side as well.

Sincerely,

Hi Hans and thanks for these precious information's, very appreciated!

Regarding the year, were you able to figure this with the serial itself? I assume there is a nomenclature or logic order with theses numbers?

Thanks also for the info on the bridge. This means it was already in the good position. (The guitar is 100% original)

All the best,

Phil
