Dating a GAD

Can anyone tell me if there is a site I can go to to get the build info on a GAD JF30? Went to the Guild site but no luck there or I did'nt know how to find it.

Hi unsprung and welcome to LTG. I don't have an answer for you but back in the day, Guild used a date stamp on the inside at the neck block ... do not know whether they've continued the practice with the GADs or not but with either an inspection mirror or a camera, you might be able to see something. Welcome ,Welcome, Welcome. I don't think they stamp the Gads. As a matter of fact dave brought an interesting point I have a Tacoma Dv6 and mine is NOT stamped on the back of the neck. I have often wondered why. Does anyone have an answer as too why ?

Welcome! Post early and often and we really like pictures! Yes, that's what I did. There don't seem to be any charts available but when I emailed customer service from the Guild web page with the serial # I got a date back within a couple of days. Give it a try. Joan

I did the same for my GAD 30R. Sent the serial number in an e-mail and got the date back in a few days.

I give credit to Guild for doing what they can here- http://www.guildguitars.com/resources/guild_dating.php but there are no GAD models there. Too bad. It would add credibility to the GAD line of they posted the info.

Problem is the Chinese Calendar's a couple thousand years ahead of ours. :lol:
