She share iz perty.....and sings good too? Thats a lovely guitar! CONGRATULATIONS! I like the tuners too. Like you, I'm Not fond of the golds....just not "ME". on my upcoming DV52.the gold tuners are going to GO. I like that old worn, dull silver look........THAT just seems right for ME personally! Fossilised Ivory ? .maybe a futire upgrade.you got me a' thinkin . ENJOY. southern

Thanks southern. It wasn't the gold that looked silly, I'm fine with gold tuners and like the look of them on DV52's, it was the exposed extra holes with gold screws in them that looked silly.

What years were the D-66's made?
'84 to '86 I believe. Apparently there were different incarnations of both this and the D60. I'm not sure at all about the particulars, but there are physical differences between this and the '87 D60 I had. The top on this is so creamy I thought it might be englemann. Hans assured me that it probably wasn't, but it is one of the nicest tops I've seen on a production guitar.

Thanks onewilyfool, the D66 is one of the best of the best. The D60 is a great guitar, but now belongs to another.
