Second only to their model-numbering system.
Comprehensible only when under the influence of certain consciousness-altering agents.
:glee:

you would have to smoke a lot more than whatever can fit inside that rolled up label, to understand the Guild model number designation system. but yeah, if u were just going for your run of the mill grass reflection inspection...hmm, may have solved the torn off label mystery indeed!

And speaking of sticker labels.....
I bought my D225 (virtually the same as a D25 12 string) direct from the Westerly factory in early '98. I had always assumed the factory-person who wrote the label was hung over and made a mistake because it said D225 instead of D25 12. Then a month or so ago I saw someone selling a slightly older D225 and the seller explained that they sometimes affixed that model number to D25 12 strings for some reason and just called it a 225. Anyone ever hear of this??

There have been several cases where the internal model number designation ended up on the label. So if a D25-12 was internally called a 225 then we have an explanation.

I think most of us "old hands" have seen pics of MIRC's barcode stickers, but it might be of interest to new members down the road.
Actually, it would be of interest if it looks like it's NOT an MIRC sticker.
Appreciate the feedback, and now you know what to look for if it comes up again.

Ok, so keep in mind this is contrasted to the edge of sanity to get this visible, but here it is. Still not great, but the smaller, rectangular bar code should be a lot more visible.

Is that truly a "bar" code?

The MIRC stickers that I've seen actually have small-font numbers on a little white sticker that covers up the original s/n.

Reading this thread compelled me go and examine all the stickers
inside my Guilds - just noticed the sticker is partially peeling on my '89 F212XL.

As a graphics professional who deals with forensics... sticker would be pretty easy to duplicate. :cool-new:
