I have a 1978 D-50 and im thinking of installing a K&K pure western mini...I was just wondering how much, if at all, this would affect the value of the guitar before i go ahead and do so?

The K&K is a great pickup, IMO. I can only see it adding value to the guitar.

If you are worried about drilling the 1/2" hole you can spend more $ and get the vintage end pin jack (just remove the end pin and insert the vintage jack). I did this with my F30R and it worked out great. You just have to get a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter cable and you are good to go. Very easy to install yourself and you can always remove the whole deal and put the original end pin back in.

From a brief search (bearing in mind that I'm not knowledgeable about Guilds yet) online, it doesn't seem to be a collectible or vintage guitar, so I can't imagine that a properly installed pickup of the quality and performance of the K&K PWM (I have installed 'em in 3 of my guitars) would do anything but enhance the resale value, should you decide to. It certainly won't hurt it, although pickups are so common now you usually can't ask extra for them.
