Beautiful work George! Hey, are you trying to put Fixit out of business or sumpin'?
Since you mentioned it Sandy.... when I saw this thread I thought "we're gonna call you lil' Tom now!"

As slow and mistake prone as I am,,,, I'm a threat to no one.

Believe me when I say, "You want Fixit to fix it."

I spent more $ on this do it yourself project than it would have cost me to take it to the luthier I use and he does a lot of repair and restoration work, but the payoff is I now have quite a few specialty tools. I'll pick up a few more on the next project and before you know it, I'll be set up pretty good.

I'm starting to slow down on the motorcycle business and five years down the road I plan on only building one or two a year. That will leave me time to mess with guitars as my retirement hobby. Not looking to start another business,,, just have fun. Like Richard Manuel said in "The Last Waltz",,,,,,,,,,, "I'm just lookin' to break even." 8)

Well, my friend, you know I've been waiting for these pictures. What an AMAZING job you did on that old wreck of a guitar!!! I'm in awe of your crazy, mad skills!! GOOD JOB!!! Finishing a guitar is one of THE most difficult things to do. Crazy a$$ shape with lots of curves and corners and edges..... kudos to you!! :!: :!: :!:

BEAUTIFUL!!

Hey Tom, I want to tell you how much I appreciate all the advice and finishing tips you gave me. You have no idea how much your encouraging PM's helped me out. Especially when I had to strip it down and refinish it for a second time. I can laugh now but I had the whole winter to think about it while waiting for the temperature to go back up so I could spray it again,,,, (after screwing it up when I was all but finished).

You're a good guy and you sure helped when I was getting discouraged.

Thank You!!!!

Awwww, thanks, George!! I had a lot of compassion and understanding because..... any set-back or disappointment you were suffering, I'd experienced many times over. Every mistake is a lesson learned and and that guitar looks FANTASTIC!!!

Good on YOU, for a job WELL DONE!!! :D :D

Everything is fine around here, George. After the hot summer, this autumn hasn't given us a lot of rain, still. Hope we can have a little: The hydric situation began to become critic, since a few months ago...

With Louise, I can say, we have a really wonderful relation  But, unfortunatelly she hasn't received lots of playtime. Other things are in our way: University stuff, to be more specific. And I'm a little bit concerned about the humidity level. I was concern about the low levels, never thought about the higher ones. Right now the hygrometer says: 66% Not too terrible (according to what I've read), but near of possible problems... So I'm concern...

What's about you?

Congrats, again, George! & Thanks for asking! :D

A hug & All the best,
B.

We've had some much needed rain here in Texas but I wish we would get some more. The temp is a little higher than normal but it's been a wonderful Spring.

Try to spend a little more time with Louies. 8) She'll go case crazy if she doesn't get more attention.

Hugs and best wishes back at you Bro.

I'm impressed! Great job!
Yes...yes it is.
And as much as I like me a blonde F65ce I gotta admit that secretly I always wished Hally had a "cherry on top".
My favorite color for D25's.

Thanks Al!! I set out with full intentions of staying true to the original all cherry color but I like a cherry top with mahogany back and sides so much I gave in at the last minute and order both stains. I’m glad I did.
