I always liked the arched backs better.
Very warm sounding.
What do you think??

I prefer arched backs because it's a unique Guild design...
That was one of the things that attracted me initially. The guitar itself did all the rest. ALL my buddies ALWAYS want to play it at jam sessions. Except for my buddy who already has a JF30-12 and turned me on to Guilds in the first place. Between us it would kinda feel like wife-swappin', if you know what I mean...

I think the GAD I tried at a pawnshop may have been a D25 flattie, otherwise, I don't know if I've ever handled a flat one, but I think my D25NT booms better than the Martin D18 I used to have did.

Right. GAD's are flat-backs.

Flat backs rule!!! :D
Hey! Arched backs need love too! I'd hate to have to choose between 'em. Especially on my guitars!

Arched backs ARE great guitars, I just have a thing for the more rustic sound of the flatties, but then again, it's all about the music style you're into.
Arched are better balanced I reckon....

Which kind of music do you play, out of curiousity?

Pascal,

I've seen and heard you play, thanks to the magic of modern technology, and I think that any guitar in your hands is going to sound great, IMHO.

Did the GM make the move OK, or did you have to replenish your supply? :D

Cheers,
Joe

Gotta stick with Blues on this one. Really love the sound of my flatback.

Course I'll admit, I've never played an archback D25.

My D25 and D4-12 have arched backs and I can never get over how well they project! They're real boomers! :D

When Joe and I had our little get-together last year, he had his D25 arch, and I had my Corona D25 all mahogany flat back...His 34 year old and my 7 or 8 year old both sounded excellent, his projected more, I think, but i wasn't at all disappointed in the small difference in tonal personality, they both sound great... :D Steffan

What he said holds true for me, too. Heck, I was there!

The aforementioned....

Thanks for the kind words Joe, and I paid extra attention to the GM during the move, so my (and yours I believe) favorite movie prop is ready for some future sessions (and the occasional evening sip).
But I have yet to reconnect my recording stuff, which unfortunately isn't on the top priorities list right now.... :( That will be when we will stop walking around boxes, and the psychological trauma of the move starts fading away!
