I first learned of this song by gnarls barkley except by Shawn Colvin..... loved it!! And then we met this guy in Brio at Town Square. He was super nice and everyone (including his new lady) were fawning over him. They said that's CeLo Green. Hooo boy!! Two great versions!! Who do you like more???

And then by Shawn Colvin.... this is a draw for me!! Honestly!! What you think??

I like the pounding/driving beat of Barkley's. I'd never heard the Colvin version before. She makes it a different song, I like just as well. Thanks for the A:B comparison.

Same as meadowguild here, Barkley's version seems "obvious", it gets you from the 1st beat, like a Motown hit, kind of "yeah, hell, that's it!" ...Then it's good to hear it from a different angle, I'd never thought of playing it on the guitar,(never thought of this song twice, because, like many hits, it is "enjoyable", you don't want to bother and spoil the fun) I love that Colvin tweaks the third chord -Does she? it intrigues me-She cleverly makes it her own, that's very nice !!!Thanks for sharing this...

Both are good. I like the funkiness of the Barkley version, but the introspective "death poetry" of the Colvin version has appeal.

I’m down with the Gnarls version. Heard the song on the radio the summer it came out and loved it enough to buy the album, which had just been released.

I like them both. Two very different versions. One to dance to, one to make out to.

I never knew what the song was but I know it was annoying. at least Shawn Colvin makes it listenable. 😛
