...I don't see anything wrong with putting some of these on display.
Well, I still argue with you about this. NAMM is there for dealers to place orders on instruments. So whatever you show there should either be a pure showpiece (like a GSR model or so) or something that a dealer actually can order in volume. So whatever Guilds will be shown at NAMM should be the models that will be in production soon. Can be Newark St. models for instance or selected models that will be in production soon. Sure if some from that above list meet that criteria they might show them. But it makes not a lot of sense to show a model from NH that will not be produced in the next 6 month in CA...NAMM is not a museum to show old guitars, it's a tradefair to advertise and sell the new stuff.

Sorry, gang...I do not have the finances to go to Nashville...you'll have to wait for winter NAMM.

And, Ralf, while NAMM most certainly IS a trade show, and orders ARE placed, not all business, or even the majority of business, is conducted at the show. It's also a place to meet, network, form new business relationships, test out new products, gauge interest in new ideas...and old...drum up support...in other words, it's far more broad than just sales.

There would be no reason not to show whatever Guilds they may have in their booth...to gauge dealer interest...or to sell their duplicate stock to interested dealers...

And to remind all attendees how nice Guilds are...

I recently inquired to Fender as to the availabilty of the Doyle Dykes Signature straps. Here's their reply.

Note the "once the transition is complete" phrase.

"We had planned to release special Doyle Straps, but unfortunately since we are planning to sell Guild to the Cordoba Guitar Company, we will not be offering these straps. It will be up to Cordoba, once the transition is complete, if they will offer these straps."
