Hi everyone,

New to the board and I'm excited to be here. I have three Guild guitars, a Starfire 4 (90's) a Bluesbird Gold Top (90's), and a 1969 D-35.

I apologize in advance if this topic has been discussed ad nauseum. I tried to find an answer via the search function, but I didn't have any luck.

Any suggestions on a HSC for a Bluesbird? I don't care if it's new or used. Les Paul, Gibson Protector possibly? Obviously if I can find a Bluesbird case that would be my first choice, but I haven't run across one yet.

Thanks,
Josh

Welcome here Josh!

Cases for Bluesbirds and Blues 90s are profoundly hard to find. Standard Les Paul cases are too small, as LPs have a 13" lower bout, and BBs have a 14" lower bout. I used one of these with my Blues 90, and it's not really a perfect fit. It's really too tight, but if you leave the guitar in there long enough, the case kinda "learns" the contours of the BB, so at least on that level it works.

I've also heard that a case for an Epiphone Wildkat is a pretty good fit, but I've not tried one of them. Good luck!

They are always out of stock, but periodically they become available. I've ordered one for my DeArmond and supposedly will be shipped around the first of the month.

We'll see....

Welcom, Josh!

You may want to contact Hans Moust (author of The Guild Guitar Book) as he has cases for sale as well as many other Guild parts. Simply click on "Members" on the top right of this page. Hans is the third entry on the list. Click on "hansmoust" and you will be taken to a page with his website link toward the bottom. Best of luck!

Bumpbity bump.

Just talked to the CS at guitarcenter. The Wildkat case I ordered is due to be shipped on Friday, so I will let you know how well it fits as soon as I get it.

Cool. Interested to know how well it fits.

A couple things I have found out...Gibson 339 case is a perfect fit. An 80's era hard plastic Gibson protector case will work, but it is a tight fit. Just on the line of possibly being too tight.

I had heard that a 339 case would fit, but finding one at a reasonable price was impossible. I want a case for the DeArmond, but I didn't want to spend 2/3 the cost of the guitar on it, lol.

Bump

The Flamekat/Wildkat case has shipped. It should get here this week, but I expect them to sell out quickly.

Strike while the iron is hot!

Case showed up today! The DeA is thinner, front to back, so there is a little front to back movement, but shape-wise fits perfectly!

Cool. I'm gonna look into that. Next thing is to figure out the best way to remove the big E from the case.

That's awesome Steve! It's great to know that there's cases out there for the hard-to-fit ones. 8)

It's a leatherette case with Epiphone in script. A little Goofoff, maybe?

Sandy, I've been waiting for these to come back into stock for a year or so. If anyone needs one, they better move on it.
