Maybe a genuine vintage case is an option then, if you're more of a vintage purist.
TKL cases are great though, and maybe better for shipping than old cases.
Lifton "built like a fortress" and Ess & Ess case from way back when are some of the best built cases I've ever seen, personally, and my problem with TKL cases lately is some smell like they've been dipped in perfume, and that I cannot handle.
I have a Guild case for a 1990's Guild acoustic I'm currently selling, mostly because the case stinks, and the case is permanently kicked out of the house, relegated to the back of one of my trucks with canopy on it until it sells, and even then I can smell it when I walk by, atrocious.
I researched it to see if others had this experience and they did, and it turns out TKL used "vanilla scented glue".
The use of toxic "fragrance" in products is frightening.
I just received a gigbag in the mail that was wrapped in a "scented trash bag" and same deal, the gigbag is going to have air in the sun for days until I can bring it in the house, and the trashbag was making the whole yard stink, unreal.
