Many moons ago I was in a local computer store (long defunct), likely late 90's to early 2000's and they had a VCR TV playing instrumental music while a ball or multiple balls bounced around onto conveyor belts, catapults, inclined tracks, in constant motion and synched with the misic. I thought it was fascinating but have never seen it since. An internet search didn't turn anything up because I didn't know what to call it.

Details are pretty muddy but I'm thinking the video was animated. I can't imagine anyone building those contraptions for real and synching them to music.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

"He should have done Mozart!"
Funny...that's the way Mozart affects me! When I would work on my cars I would listen to a classical music station, and whenever I would lose concentration I realized something by Mozart was being played. Give me Bach or Scarlatti, Chopin or Liszt...

I'm fine with that. (y) Anything but what he currently has that monstrous contraption playing.

Is this music that existed prior to this video (and then got illustrated by some kind of computer made images), or was there an actual physical machine playing this music 'live' being filmed, with actual balls bumping in every real instrument they are planned to come across ? 2nd hypothesis would seem too complicated to build Cynthia (I believe), then I guess it's illustration following the music...Still amazing... I had seen one of the plucked strings video some years ago ; it's fascinating too. Really great I think.

My heavily right brained self still prefers stuff like this.....a homemade puppet, a drum kit out of soup cans, some miniaturized stage props, and a puppeteer/artist/musician that can mimic every single little nuance of Neil Peart's playing. 🤘🤘

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you.....Chopsy!!!
