So, a summary. We arrive in Vancouver July 5th, and I believe there on the nights of 6th and 7th - but by 8th we are in Whistler, 9th Lac de Jeune, 10th & 11th Jasper, 12th Lake Louise, 13th & 14th Banff and 15th we hit Calgary. we're at the Stampede afternoon and evening of Friday 16th and we fly home on the afternoon of the 18th - coming and going by Air Canada so I suppose the passengers are supposed to flap the wings to keep it going

Snags.
Have wife with me who is wary of strange bearded men with guitars (including her husband) - she refused to go to Arlington
Have no guitar with me :(

So that is my little secret out. perhaps if any LTGers bumped into me by 'accident' along the way she might not actually run away

I'm logging off now for tonight - and continuing my strig change - i've just changed my G string

Jerry - I'm afraid I'll be in Norway then. First a memorial party for my wife, then a three-week wait for a new grandchild. Hope you have a fine trip.

Jerry, Steffan, et al,

Wives love to stop and check out Granville Island when they visit Vancouver so that would be a great place to meet with a bearded fellow or two (?) just to press the flesh and say " how the heck are you, eh?"

Just a thought,
Joe

Now you're stylin' Jerry, and I'm sure I could manage a guitar or two...your wife would have lots to do, and with a tin cup or 2 maybe we could get free coffees....then again they might charge double...which reminds me...if you want to pass yourself off as a Canadian   when you go to a Tim Hortorns and you ask for a coffee, the girl will as you how you like it...our favorite term for extra sugar and extra cream is 'double double'....and I suppose the same goes for Tea...It will be exciting to meet you, bring your camera and saySmile.
cause my new teeth will be ready by the end of Feb....Steffan

Thanks for the thoughts John - missed my chance to meet a real rancher :( Guess the Calgary Stampede isn't on your 'to do' list  Hope all is well with the new grandchild :D How many will that make the score :?: Have none of my own (as far as I know) - my sons are nearly 24 and 22 respectively so no need for them to get tied down for another 20 years at least

My cameras tend to be a digicam - and whatever I have on my phone - won't the dazzle of your new gnashers cause a screen black out

Joe - it would be great to meet you too - potentially turning into a mini LTG get together. Like I say, I have'nt broached it with my wife yet, who tends to be a bit 'shy' with my guitar buddies (but Joe - she likes bird watching  ) I have to find out what she has planned during the Vancouver stay to see what time is free and if that suits you too :D

Managed to broach the subject with Mrs R - we have no definite Canadian intinerary in Vancouver organized as yet. We are staying at the FAIRMONT WATERFRONT HOTEL, 900 CANADA PLACE WAY, VANCOUVER BC CANADA V6C, 5th, 6th & 7th July. She muttered something about 'not wanting me involved with a whole group of LTG all evening' - what do you propose? Sure we can work something out :D

A visit to Western Canada without a stop on the prairies?? You're missing the best part. None of those mountains or trees to block the view.

Jerry,
Maybe we could drive by and wave, or maybe even treat you to a moon over Vancouver!

Joe

Well - I'm hoping for a proper meet up :D As for mooning - perhaps only wear the guitar like in your photo - that might impress my wife   But then again - might not
