Super nice guitar. I’ll bet it plays like a dream, and sounds even better. Congratulations!

Thanks Shihan, yes it’s the first time I’ve owed the Guild Award incarnation of the Dearmond floating pickup. It sounds surprisingly acoustic. Low output. Just getting to know if!

I’d be very interested in hearing it. I have an old Rhythm Chief 1000 on my L-50. I really like it, but it can be finicky. one has to be very careful with picking dynamics, definitely requires some time to get accustomed to.
I know you’re going to have fun with it!

Nice guitar!
Kind of an interesting unsung model I think.....
I have '61 and '63 CA-100's and enjoy them both,
The '63 has a natural finish and a factory installed Award DeArmond like yours, only with a black bobbin.
Its a good sounding combination of a lively acoustic archtop with a great amplified sound.
Mine are both Sitka.

Set up now complete on the ‘62 CA100… remounted the pickguard which was weirdly screwed down to the body. Did a Jack plug on lower bout so the volume pot on the pickguard is clear of the body (abrasion from Jack socket visible on photo of the crack under pickguard) Checked that the small crack under is properly done (yes, it’s a good strong cleat!) Adjusted pickup angle to roll off bass and boost treble a fraction. Noted slim body depth of 2 7/8, (interestingly the same as my ‘63 A500) Set up with RW 12’s… ready to go!
