I was always a huge fan of his and Hal David's music.

I hope his hearing of our version of "Little Red Book" wasn't a factor!

Burt has to go down as one of the greatest pop songwriters in history. His songs used unusual chord changes and melody lines. He and Dionne Warwick were an amazing combination. Such great songs, covered by thousands of artists. I don't have any Bacharach records, but I respect his artistry and mourn his loss.

I have really gotten into Laura Nyro lately. I wish I'd started earlier with her, but I'm making up for lost time.

… And this one is right up there too. The chord progression is sublime, as are Marilyn McCoo's vocals.

Oh man, I have to admit that as a “yout” I had a thing for Ms. McCoo. She was so fine and this song was one of my absolute favorites. Timeless. #Cuckoo4McCoo
