Any one here change out the bright white composite nut for bone? I've done new bone nuts on several of my guitars (Gibson & Martin) so this one should be no problem except I'll need to start with a nut blank because there are no pre shaped bone nuts that have the width and height needed that I can find. An added plus is that the unbleached bone matches the guitars binding. I'll post up a pic when finished IMG_2604.JPGIMG_2598.JPGIMG_2604.JPG

Thanks for that info, I'll order one and check it out. I have seen MusicAtHeart before just didn't know they had
something specific to Guild. I have a friends Guild F250E acoustic here at my house fixing his electronics and compared
the nut and string spacing and they look identical. The nut on that guitar is Nubone and looks like a bone nut, the one on my
Starfire looks like plastic and isn't fitted all that well cosmetically. Even though it plays fine it is bothersome to me

You can also send your present nut to Bob Colosi (sounds painful) and he'll make you any material and color and size it very closely to what you have. Might save some work, and Bob is very reasonably priced.

I have bone nuts on most of my guitars, but I had my luthier do a nylon one for a Bigsby-equipped guitar recently, and...whoa!
It does work for keeping the guitar in tune. The self-lubricating properties of certain types of nylon are not myth, apparently!

I have used Bob Colosi for nuts and saddles before, top notch stuff for sure. I'm going to cut this first nut with slightly wider
e to e spacing and see how it comes out. By my measurements I'm reading 35mm E to E with quite a bit of space on each side
of the fret board so there is some room to work with and see how that works out.
