So what better way to treat my new M-75 Aristocrat than with a new (used) amp?
Actually, I have been looking for a low wattage amp for the last year or so when suddenly Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 appeared on my radar screen. I really never seriously considered this brand because the few Blackstar I have played previously had way too much gain and seemed best suited for metal.
I had been fixated on more expensive amps but I must say, this little amp really sounds good. Wonderful rich cleans, full-on crunch and decent overdrive. The digital reverb is perfectly fine (i have been a spring-reverb snob) and the simple controls provide a wide palette of tone.
The prices of these things shot up recently so I pulled the trigger on a used one. Glad I did.
