Excellent, RT. Best wishes.

West, yes, there have been incidents with USPS. I think I've seen one or two here and a few over in the AGF. Of course, there's no foolproof way to do this. The boxes get handled and put on conveyors. I do think the UPS depots have some gorillas though that throw things around; maybe USPS is more careful.

Just took delivery of a Martin D-35 Custom that went from Nazareth, PA to Naples, FL (the dealer I ordered it from) and then to me in the San Francisco Bay Area via UPS. Zero problems.

I found this out, no matter how much you insure a vintage guitar with UPS, Fedex, etc......They will only PAY you up to $1000 damages. After first rejecting your claim, and making you jump through hoops, etc. They best is to privately insure for the whole value.

Just recieved a D-55 shipped USPS Priority from Mississippi to Ontario, Canada. That's a long way if'n I know my Yewnited States geography even a little bit. It left on the 10th and arrived on the 17th.

Everything arrived in perfect condition - so another vote for USPS Priority post.

P.S. The USPS website says that Priority parcels are supposed to have a tracking number so you can track your shipment. For some reason mine did not - no idea why. I think the shipper just did not insist on getting one. If it's not allready been shipped I would make sure you get a 10 digit tracking number.

Does anyone recall a complaint about USPS? They are slow, but other than that, I don't remember ever having heard a damage complaint.
Hi West; some time ago, the USPS messed up a Thunder 1 RVT that I sent to the President of the NZ LTG Chapter (South Island). But since then, I don't recall anyone crabbing about the USPS either. Just going by the pics, it looked like the amp had been rammed by a forklift truck. Ya know, you can pack for 6 to 8 foot conveyor drops and concussion from communist grenades ... but who'd a thunk ...  :) Anyway, I still use them regularly and think they're reliable and the costs are moderate; tracked and insured only can be a little slow but they do offer faster classes of service.

UPS...here's why.

Fourteen years ago my brother send a baby crib to me UPS. I told him to send it C.O.D. When it came and I signed for it I asked what I owed, and the driver said it was paid for by the sender. I called my brother to thank him but he told me he didn't pay for it.

So now I always recommend UPS. (The story is true but I'm just kidding about recommending UPS.) I don't really have a recommendation.

Ciao
