In the spirit of Killdeer, here are shots of an owl in flight, taken by one of my Facebook friends ...

... and one of a common loon shot by my niece.

I thought they were cool enough to share, even if I didn't shoot them myself.

That owl in flight is awesome, never would have guessed they would look like that!

FWIW, the owl in flight is a Great Gray Owl. I have a similar shot taken in Yellowstone a few years ago. Always intersting to see an in-flight side view like this one.

I spent at least 6 hours with this guy a while back. Lots of stills and video of him grabbing field mice and voles.

Did I say "good stuff?"

He spent a lot of time looking right at me, about 20' away....probably trying to make sense of the tripod, video camera, 2 still cameras and a noticeably happy human.
