That owl in flight is awesome, never would have guessed they would look like that!

FWIW, the owl in flight is a Great Gray Owl. I have a similar shot taken in Yellowstone a few years ago. Always intersting to see an in-flight side view like this one.

I spent at least 6 hours with this guy a while back. Lots of stills and video of him grabbing field mice and voles.

Thanks for sharing some great shots. The owl in flight is just awesome. The eyes are just stunning on the one you took Joe. Wonder what its thinking :wink:

He spent a lot of time looking right at me, about 20' away....probably trying to make sense of the tripod, video camera, 2 still cameras and a noticeably happy human. :D
