When my grandpa passed away I was given a Guild B-301 that he had in his collection but I can't seem to find much info on it. Looking on their dating guide online the serial numbers only go to BB100846 and the serial number on mine is BB100955 so that has me a bit lost. I'm totally new to this world so any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome. We love pictures so if you have some please post. I'd guess circa 1981 but the serial number charts are incomplete and sometimes wrong so the obvious guess isn't right,

See http://www.guildsofgrot.com/basses.html for a couple variations owned by an LTG member. The more we know about the bass the more of its story we can tell.

I'll be playing it

In that case, the truss rod cover is upside down. The correct orientation for most Guilds is so that the truss rod shape mimics the shape of the headstock. In this case the wider portion should be at the top. That also means the audience can read the B-301 which is better advertising :)
