Greetings! I found this board while searching for Luthiers in Westchester. While the guitar I am looking to have luthiered is not a Guild, I do happen to have a D25 that I purchased new somewhere in the 80's that also needs work. So here I am. My D25 has the following stamped into the back of the headstock:
D250985
Made in USA
10-87
To be honest, I don't exactly remember the date that it was purchased, but I assume that 10-87 refers to the month & year that it was completed.
I was also wondering if it was common for Guild to use Brazilian rosewood for the fretboard back then. Mine has that swirly grain and color pattern that is characteristic of Brazilian.
Regards,
Kevin
